Born on August 31. In 1971 he graduated from the acting department of the Latvian State Conservatory (course of Arkady Katz) and in the same year he was accepted into the troupe of the Russian Drama Theater. Then he entered the service in the Kirov Regional Youth Theater. Then he worked in the Youth Theater in Rostov-on-Don, in the Vladimir Regional Drama Theater, in the Riga Youth Theater. In 1988 he re-entered the troupe of the Russian Drama Theater.
