Born June 16, 1963, Los Angeles, California is an American screenwriter, producer, and director.
Scott Alexander co-authored with Larry Karacevsky.
We met at the University of Southern California where we were roommates; graduated from the School of Motion Picture Arts in 1985.
Their first success was the popular but critically ridiculed comedy Problem Child (1990). Alexander and Karacevsky claim that their original script was a complex black comedy, but the studio diluted it into an unrecognizable state.
In 1994, Alexander and Karacevsky convinced Tim Burton to film a biopic about Edward D. Wood, Jr. They wrote the script in six weeks.
In 2000, they made their directorial debut in The Story of a Kidnapping. The film was not well received.
