Born March 15, 1968 in Hartford, Connecticut is an American actor and composer.

McGrath began singing professionally in 1992 with his high school friends as part of the Shrinky Dinx (later renamed Sugar Ray). In 1994, the band signed to Atlantic Records. Their first success came in 1997 with the song "Fly".

McGrath's personal popularity grew, and he appeared on the covers of various magazines such as Rolling Stone and Spin. He also appeared frequently on MTV and VH1, in various interviews and at ceremonies. People magazine named him "Sexiest Rocker" of 1998. In 1999, McGrath was a member of the short lived The Wondergirls, which also included Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots. He contributed the track "Reaching Out" to the album "Strait Up", recorded in memory of the late vocalist Lynn Street. McGrath also appeared in the video for "Angel's Son" for a track also recorded for this album, and performed with his band on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".

Since 2000, McGrath has appeared as a guest on various TV shows, including Las Vegas and North Shore, and has also appeared alongside the entire Sugar Ray group in the movie Scooby Doo. This was his second film appearance, the first in 1997 in the movie Father's Day.

In 2004, he was headlining alongside Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind at The Justice Ball, an annual fundraiser for The House of Justice.

Since September 2004, Mark McGrath has been a co-owner of the Extra Television Show, but in July 2008 he left the show to focus on his musical career again. He also served as a jury member for the 2005 American Idol television project (similar to Star Factory). WB offered him a role in the cult series Charmed for the 2005 season, but eventually due to conflicts, he was replaced by Jason Lewis. In 2015 he played one of the main roles in the TV movie "Shark Tornado 3".
