Born September 1, 1967, Sydney, Australia is an Australian film director and producer.
Gillespie moved to New York at the age of nineteen to study illustration, graphic design and advertising at the School of Fine Arts in Manhattan.
For 15 years, Gillespie worked as a commercial director, usually with filmmakers Adam Kimmel and Rodrigo Prieto. He came to directing thanks to a friend who was the first to take up this profession and lured Craig away.
Filmed commercials. He made his film director debut in 2007 with Mr. Woodcock, starring Sean William Scott, Billy Bob Thornton and Susan Sarandon.
