Born June 26, 1959, Quedlinburg - German theater and film director, actor.
Studied as a typographer. In 1980 he completed his compulsory military service in the National People's Army of the GDR. Since 1982 he studied at the Ernst Busch Higher School of Acting in Berlin and worked in many theaters in the GDR. In 1990-1995 he served as a director at the German National Theater in Weimar.
From 1995-2000, Hausman worked as director of the Drama Theater in Bochum. During this time, he played a role in Detlef Buk's film "Guesthouse". Hausman came to prominence in 2000 with the film Sunny Alley, written by Thomas Broussig. Hausman's second film was "Berlin Blues" based on the novel of the same name by Sven Regener. In 2005, Hausman made the film NNA, incorporating his own military experience. In 2011, Leander Hausman's film "Hotel Lux" was released based on a script by Uwe Timm.
