Studied history at the University of the Basque Country, where he also met Alex de la Iglesia.
Gerrikaechevarria has been nominated for the Goya Prize four times and won this award for the film “Camera 211”. In 2010, Gerrikaachechevarria was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. In 2013, Gerrikaachechevarria received a Goya nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for The End of the World.
