Born in 1961, Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - American screenwriter, director, actor and producer.
He attended Shawnee Mission East High School in his hometown, where he wrote articles for the school's Harbinger newspaper. Studied radio journalism at the University of Colorado at Boulder. After graduating in 1983, Eric spent four years working on experimental films in the basement of his home, which earned him recognition and an invitation to an experimental animation program at the California Institute of the Arts. At the same time, he filmed the music video for the REM song "Get Up". In 1996, while working at DreamWorks, he was appointed as a director to direct his first feature film, Antz. The film, released in 1998, was the studio's first computer animated feature film and the second computer animated feature film in history. Then he worked as an artist in the film "Shrek", for which he also wrote the song "Welcome to Dulok".
