Born July 20, 1973, Mexico City, Mexico is a Mexican-American screenwriter and producer of films and TV series.
His father is Mexican and his mother is Cuban. His mother left Cuba after Fidel Castro came to power. He is the older brother of writer-producer J.R. Orsi. He grew up in Canada, Texas and Los Angeles, where he met his future friend and co-screenwriter Alex Kurtzman. Studied at the University of Texas at Austin.
He is a co-creator, along with Alex Kurtzman and J.J. Abrams, of the science fiction series The Edge, and has served as a consultant producer on the series.
In 2007, The Hollywood Reporter named him one of the 50 Most Influential Latinos in Hollywood.
Orsi was invited as a special guest at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International.
