Born December 29, 1976, Nicosia, Cyprus - Finnish director, producer, actor and screenwriter.

When he was four years old, the family moved from Cyprus to Finland.

In his youth, he was a player and coach of Espoo Oilers, the Finnish Premier League floorball team.

In 1999 Dome entered the Helsinki University of Art and Design (Taideteollinen korkeakoulu). Only three students were selected for directing that year, one of whom was Karukoski.

His thesis was the feature film "Girl, you are a star" (Tytto sina olet tahti, in the Russian box office "Beauty and the Scum"). The film was released in October 2005 and received good reviews from critics, and also collected a good box office.

The second full-length feature film was "House of Dark Butterflies". Its premiere took place in 2008.

In 2009 Karukoski's third film, Forbidden Fruit, was released. In it, the director raised the topic of religious prohibitions among the Lestadians.

In 2010, the fourth film in the House of Karukoski, Heroes of the Arctic Circle (The Lapland Odyssey), was released, which became the leader in 2010 in Finland. In February 2011, Heroes of the Arctic Circle received the Jussi Award for Best Film of the Year. In addition, the film received the Jussi Audience Award.
In 2011, Karukoski directed the biopic Mannerheim about Marshal Gustav Mannerheim (after the film company terminated the contract with Renny Harlin).
