Born January 19, 1943, Port Arthur, Texas, USA - October 4, 1970, Los Angeles, California, USA - American rock singer, who performed first with Big Brother and the Holding Company, then with the Kozmic Blues Band and Full Tilt Boogie Band. Joplin, who has released only four studio albums (one of which is a posthumous release), is considered the best white blues singer and one of the greatest female vocalists in rock history.
