Kevin Shields, the leader of the group My Bloody Valentine, was born in New York. When he was six, he and his family moved to Dublin, Ireland. In his early years, he discovered an interest in music, and as a result, he began to learn to play with his good friend Colm O'Keesog. In 1984 they formed their own rock band, and soon they were joined by vocalist Dave Conway and keyboardist Tina Durkin. They named themselves after the horror of the same name. Soon the band moved to the capital of Germany, where at the beginning of 1985 they recorded their first disc, This Is Your Bloody Valentine, influenced by the musical directions of post-punk and alternative rock. In the same year they come to London and find themselves a bass player - Debbie Goodge.

In the same summer, My Bloody Valentine signed a contract with Fever, and with his support the new album “Geek!” was released, although it did not become very popular. After recovering from this failure, they signed a contract with another record company and released the album "The New Record By My Bloody Valentine". It is safe to say that the tracks on this album were influenced by noise-pop, which formed the band's special style. In 1987 they changed the record label again and released several small albums at once.

After leaving the band as a vocalist, they quickly find a replacement - Belinda Butcher. Such castling only strengthens the band's desire to find new sounding of their own songs, and, as a result, they switch to a different technique of sound recording.

"Isn't Anything" - the album, released in 1988, received positive reviews from music critics, which means that My Bloody Valentine photos with their autographs began to be signed much more often, because the number of their fans increased many times. In 1991 they released "Loveless", which made a splash both in Britain and America, however, despite the popularity of the record, its sales were too small compared to the cost of recording, so they had to change the label again. since the former turned out to be beyond their means. Nevertheless, 2015's My Bloody Valentine are ready to continue to delight their fans, although nothing has been heard about their new album yet, their last album was released in 2013.
