The group was formed in October 1995 in Orange, California, USA, at the initiative of James Hart, Dave Peters, Billy Sisler and Ken Floyd. The very next year, having in their archives some material of their own composition, the group began concert activities in the California environs. The first stable Eighteen Visions line-up came in 1997 with the addition of second guitarist Jeff Boult, soon to be replaced by Brandan Schieppati, and the replacement of Billy Sisler with Richie Taylor, who was soon replaced by bassist Javier Van Huss.
