Born 1971, Wheaton, Illinois is an American animation director, screenwriter, producer and cameraman.
Studied architecture and worked as a designer for several years before becoming an animator. His first film, Hangnail, was presented at the UCLA Animation Workshop and screened at the Animac Film Festival in Spain and the Brisbane International Animation Festival in Australia. Shane Ecker attended Florida State University, where he received his BA in Architecture in 1994, and the University of California, where he received his MA in Architecture in 1998. He worked on special effects for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in animation from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
