The popular French group Daft Punk was formed in the early 90s of the last century. Its founders were two school friends - Guy-Manuel Christo and Thomas Bangalier. Thomas was born into the family of a musical composer, so he was always attracted by show business. Having succumbed to the first wave of new musical genres such as indie rock, hip-hop and electronic house, the guys decide to create their own band.
Their first recordings were nothing more than a cover version of famous hits of popular artists. The official start of the artists' musical career was 1992, at that time their collective was called Darling. Their first studio recording did not attract much attention from music lovers, but was noticed by music critics. One of the Melody Maker journalists in a review article about the newly formed group called their work "daft punk" (crazy punk). The guys took criticism very badly, nevertheless, this statement gave the name for their new project - Daft Punk. The band's first popularity came in 1995, when their second record, Da Funk, became a hit and sold 30,000 copies. Few people remained indifferent to their work, all the club venues in France were waiting for their performances. There was also a presentation of a Daft Punk film called Da Funk, where the artists appeared in front of the audience in eccentric outfits of robots with LED lighting.
The artists have four full studio albums - Discovery, Homework, Random Access Memories, Human After All. In addition, Daft Punk has won numerous music chart rankings. Daft Punk's achievements include the BRIT Award (1998, 2002 in 4 nominations), seven Grammy statuettes. For example, in 2014, Daft Punk performed at the 56th Grammy Awards as a duet with Stevie Wonder. Also that evening they were recognized as the best musical duet of the year, and their new album Random Access Memories - the best among the announced bands.
Thanks to Daft Punk's role in creating a new sound in electronic music, music lovers can enjoy wonderful mixes of different styles. At the same time, each performance of the musicians is a real performance and resembles an enchanting show.
