Tryo was formed in the mid-90s. It consisted of Cyril (Gizmo) (guitar, vocals), Emmanuel (Manu) Eveno (guitar, flute, tabla, vocals), Christophe Mali (guitar, vocals, accordion) and, a little later, Daniel Bravo (percussion).
At first, the guys existed under the wing of the House of Youth of the Parisian suburb of Fresne, which gave young musicians the opportunity to give concerts in the capital and the surrounding area. In 1996 the band moved to Brittany, where they spent almost 6 months, later, after joining Daniel's original trio, gave several concerts in Burgundy and began recording the album "Mamagubida", which included 4 studio tracks and several live ones. Positioning their music as "acoustic reggae", the musicians did not use electric instruments, only vocals, guitar and percussion. By the summer of 2001, Tryo's debut disc, reissued by Sony records, had sold 400,000 copies. The success was facilitated by a long tour - only in the first 7 months of 1999 the group gave 90 concerts, performing at major festivals.
The second album appeared in October 2000 under the name "Faut qu'ils s'activent" and traditionally included both studio and live numbers, and in the interval between recording and mixing Tryo managed to play in Sudan, on Reunion Island, in Brussels and Paris ...
