Born June 17, 1946 - American pop singer. During his career, Manilow has released over 75 million records worldwide.
Barry Pincus grew up under the supervision of his mother's parents - Jews who emigrated from the Russian Empire. As a child, he learned to play the accordion, and for his 13th birthday he was presented with a gift in the form of a piano, which largely determined his life path. He studied at a music school, and at the age of 21 he wrote the musical "The Drunkard", which for 13 years did not leave the Broadway stage. He also made a living composing radio station callsigns and music for commercials for multinational corporations.
