Born May 13, 1986, New York, USA - American actress, director, screenwriter, producer, writer and comedian.
Studying at St. Ann's School in Brooklyn, New York.
She graduated from Oberlin College in 2008, where she studied screenwriting, and in the following years focused on a career as an actress and screenwriter.
Dunham gained attention in 2010 with Tiny Furniture, which earned her an Independent Spirit Award for Best Screenplay, and her breakthrough came in 2012 with the HBO comedy series Girls, for which she was nominated in four categories at once for the Emmy Award; for Best Actress in a Television Comedy Series, Best Screenplay and Best Director, and as a Producer for Best Comedy Series. Also in 2013, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for her role in the show. In the same year, Dunham was included in Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2014, Lina released her first book (Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned").
Dunham launched the online edition Lenny Letter in 2015 with her friend and show runner on Girls, Jennifer Conner. It is a self-funded project that provides a platform for young women's voices to discuss feminist concerns.
