Born in Vladimir on November 18, 1960. Graduated from the acting and directing faculty of the Theater School named after B.V. Shchukin. In his graduation practice he worked at the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. Zhitinkin's graduation performance was the play "Price" by A. Miller. After graduation he worked at the Moscow Sovremennik Theater. From Galina Volchek Zhitinkin learned the concept of director's will - the ability to subjugate everyone, from actors to production workers. In 1988-1990 he worked at the Theater named after M. Ermolova.
The most significant performances, according to critics, were "Dear Friend", benefit performance by Alexander Shirvindt "The battlefield after victory belongs to the marauders" by Edward Radzinsky at the Theater of Satire (1995), "Nijinsky.
