Born on May 21, 1968 in Kuressaare.
Graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in art history. For four years he studied film studies in Paris at the schools "Saint Denis" and "La Sorbonne Nouvelle", then continued his education at the American University of Ohio, where he received a master's degree. Trained in Los Angeles at Columbia Pictures in the script development department.
He worked as a correspondent for the newspapers "Voice of Estonia" and "Estonian Day Newspaper" in Paris, host of the "Frick" program on the ETV channel, on the radio "Kuku".
