Born January 1, 1951 in Murud Janjira, Maharashtra, India - Indian actor and filmmaker.
At school, Nana was very worried about his appearance: unlike his older brothers, he was dark-skinned and therefore considered himself ugly. However, these experiences led to the fact that from the third grade he began to play in school plays. When Nana was in seventh grade, the whole family moved to Mumbai. But two years later, in 1964, his father's business went bankrupt and Nana, while studying at school, began to work. And after graduating from the Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art in Mumbai, he got a job at an advertising agency. Then he met his future wife, Nilcanti - he worked in a bank and played in the theater in her free time. In 1978 they got married and, since Nilcanti earned several times more than Nana, she advised him to move to the theater for a permanent job in order to realize his talent. Nana Patekar has starred in several Marathi films: Maaficha Sakshidar (1986), Pak Pak Pakaak (2005), Deool (2011). In 2008, he first appeared in a Tamil film, Bommalattam. In 2010, Nana Patekar first starred in a film in the Kannada language: in the film director Ramesh Rao Yaksha, he played the role of a police officer. As a filmmaker, Nana Patekar made his debut in 1991 with the film Prahaar: The Final Attack. Twenty years later, he wrote the script for his second film.
