At thirteen, Julian Kemp founded the Youth Television Studio, thanks to which he was invited to work on national television series as an actor. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1991, Julian moved on to directing, joining Channel 4's children's documentary "Wise up". Having directed three episodes, he received two BAFTA awards and two Emmy awards, one RTS award and a Peabody. award
His first feature film was Home, filmed in 1999, which is the story of an employee of a small retirement club who suddenly discovers a parapsychological potential in herself. His extensive television work continued; among the many programs he has written and directed are Dangerville, Uncle Max and the two-hour drama Sherlock Holmes and the Unorganized Street Troops (Baker Street Irregulars, 2007) for the Air Force.
