October 9, 1927 - October 6, 2002 - Russian Soviet animator and production designer, illustrator.
Graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. Potemkin (Faculty of Art and Graphics, 1946-1947) .
From 1951 to 1954, he worked as a drawing teacher at school № 454 in Moscow.
He came to the film studio "Soyuzmultfilm" in 1954, started as a background worker, that is, as an artist, drawing backgrounds for scenes of a cartoon, his entire future career was connected with "Soyuzmultfilm" .
In 1958, as a production designer, he was invited by the patriarch of Russian animation Alexander Ivanov to his painting "Sportlandia" .
In 1969, Lev Atamanov invited Geliy Arkadiev as a production designer for the film "Ballerina on the Ship", subsequently the cartoon received wide recognition both at home and abroad, as well as a number of prestigious prizes.
Until the actual termination of the work of "Soyuzmultfilm" in the early 1990s, he worked at this film studio. Collaborated with leading directors. Then he worked at the independent studios "SHAR" and "Animafilm".
