American hip-hop group formed in 1985 by rappers Q-Tip and Phife Dawg and DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad. The fourth member of the group, rapper Jarobi White, left the group after the first album, but returned in 2006. Along with De La Soul, the band was part of the Native Tongues Posse project. Through her experiments in mixing hip-hop and jazz, A Tribe Called Quest had a huge impact on hip-hop music, and their tracks such as "Bonita Applebum", "Can I Kick It?", "I Left My Wallet in El Segundo" , Scenario, Check the Rhime, Jazz (We've Got), Award Tour and Electric Relaxation are recognized as classics of the genre.
