Lyle Pearce Lovett (born November 1, 1957) is an American country singer, songwriter and actor. Has recorded 13 albums and 21 singles. The single "Cowboy Man" peaked at # 10 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1986. Lovett is the recipient of four Grammy awards. In 2007, he released It's Not Big It's Large, which was ranked # 2 on Top Country Albums. The last album "Natural Forces" was released on October 20, 2009.
Lovett was born in a suburb of Houston, Texas. He went to university and studied German and journalism there. Lovett began his musical career as a songwriter and released his first album in 1986. Lovett is not only a country singer, but also has elements of folk, swing, jazz, blues and gospel in his work. Lovett has won four Grammy Awards: Best Country Artist (1989), Best Pop Vocal (for Funny How Time Slips Away, recorded with Al Green, 1994), Best Country Duo (for Blues For Dixie ", recorded with the Texas group" Asleep at the Wheel ", 1994), Best Country Album (The Road to Ensenada The Road to Ensenada, 1996)
Lovett's personal life was hotly debated after his marriage to actress Julia Roberts. They met in 1992. After a three-week romance, Lovett and Roberts were secretly married in June 1993. Nevertheless, Lovett and Roberts remained friends, and Roberts even sang his song in one of her films.
