Born 5 July 1966, Oliena, Sardinia - Former Italian footballer, midfielder; now a coach. He was considered one of the best free-kick performers in the history of football and was also known for his excellent technique and dribbling. He spent the first part of his career in Italy, having achieved the greatest success at Napoli (alongside the legendary Argentinean Maradona and Brazilian striker Careca) and at Parma, before leaving for the English club Chelsea, where he was named the best player of the year according to journalists in 1997. Also played for the Italian national team. Coached the Italian youth national team (U21). At Chelsea, he is assigned game number 25.
