Sotiris Mustakas was born in Limassol in 1940. In his youth, he took an active part in the national liberation war against British colonialism. Once Sotiris was even arrested by the British and spent seven months in prison.
Mustakas was educated at the National Greek Theater. During his career, the actor played in many productions. Particularly popular were the roles of Sotiris Mustakas in comedy performances. He perfectly embodied the images of cute eccentrics and neurotics.

The actor was married to Maria Bonnelou, also an actress by profession. Some time after the wedding, the couple had a daughter.
In recent years, Sotiris practically stopped acting in films and devoted himself entirely to acting on the stage. The last film with Sotiris Mustakas was filmed in 2007. He embodied the image of the Titan in the painting by El Greco, dedicated to the biography of the famous artist.
Mustakas passed away in June 2007 in Athens at the age of 66.
