Born July 29, 1955 in Touire, Department of Poitou-Charentes. His father was a veterinarian, his mother was a social worker. As a teenager, he was fond of music, then his sympathies shifted towards the cinema. According to Anglade, he wanted to become an actor at the age of 14, having watched Jean Estache's film "Mom and the Whore" (1973).
