Adolph Jean Menjou was born in 1890 in a typical American town in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Adolf's father was a native French and his mother was Irish. Adolph grew up with his younger brother Henry, and when the boy was 7 years old, the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. However, Adolf did not stay long at this place either - the future famous actor first studied at the military academy, and then, having moved to the state of New York, entered one of the most prestigious US universities - Cornell, where he soon received an engineering degree.

However, already in 1916, Menjou made his debut in a vaudeville play, and later played his first cinematic role, becoming an episodic character in the film The Mystery of the Blue Envelope.

Menzhu's acting career was unexpectedly interrupted by the First World War. Fulfilling his duty to the Fatherland, Adolf goes to the front, from where he returns with the rank of captain. Once on American soil, the actor begins to actively act, and after the premiere of the films "The Three Musketeers" and "The Sheikh", Menzhe's popularity increases dramatically. It is noteworthy that after the release of the film directed by Charles Chaplin "Parisienne" in 1923, where Menjou played the role of Pierre Ravel, the actor was awarded the title of "Most Stylish Man in America" ??9 times.

The advent of sound film practically brought Adolph Menge's career to nothing, but in 1931 the actor was lucky - for the role of Walter Burns in the film Front Page, he was nominated for an Oscar. Cinema with Adolphe Menjou attracted the audience with ease, positive mood and professional acting.

In 1947, Menjou became a member of the Anti-American Propaganda Assembly, and later even led the Society of Filmmakers Who Fight to Preserve American Values. Along with Barbara Stanwick, John Wayne and Robert Taylor, Adolph Menjou tried to resist the spread of communist ideas in Hollywood, which made him many enemies. He practically ceased to be invited to play, and the last film with Adolphe Menjou "Polianna" directed by David Swift saw the world in 1960.

In October 1963, Adolph Menjou died prematurely of hepatitis and was buried in the famous Hollywood Forever cemetery. He was posthumously honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
