Liya Borisovna began her career in literature as a journalist, then became famous as the author of the sensational play "Certificate of Maturity" (a feature film was shot on it, with the young V. Lanov in the title role). Other plays by Geraskina were added to the repertoire of children's theaters: the very first - the fairy tale play "Khrustald and Katrinka" - was staged back in 1947 in Krasnoyarsk, and in the mid-1960s, Leah Borisovna's staging of Gianni Rodari's story "Jelsomino in the Land of Liars" was a success.
