Gennady Rozhdestvensky was born into a family of musicians on May 4, 1931. Parents gave their child a musical education, sending him to the Gnesins music school to learn to play the piano. Then, at the age of 18, he entered the conservatory to study an opera and symphony conductor and pianist, where his father N. Anosov was a professor.
