Mae Whitty was born on June 19, 1865 in Liverpool, which is located in the UK. From childhood, the future actress was called Mary Louise. May's first debut took place in 1881 on the stage of a small theater in her hometown. After her first performance, she moved to London where she began her career ascent in the West End.

Since 1892 Mae Whitty has been married to the famous manager Ben Webster. In 1895, the future artist visited the United States of America with her husband. There, a woman first appears on Broadway in one of the popular performances.
