Born on August 29, 1978. He started his acting career with short films by Francois Ozon “Bed scenes” (Scenes de lit) and “The Virgins” (Les Puceaux). The actor became famous with the role of the emotionally unstable teenager Mathieu in Sebastien Lifshitz's film "Almost nothing". The film as a whole was well received by critics, receiving mostly positive reviews. The actor is married to actress Valerie Donzelli and they have two children. The couple is inseparable and together all the time. The couple faced a serious challenge - a child's oncological disease.
In 2011, Elkaim and Valerie Donzelli wrote the script for the film I Declare War, the plot of which is related to the events of their personal life and the illness of their son Gabriel, who also starred in this film. This is a film about the struggle of two young parents with a serious illness of their child. Valerie also directed this film. Together with Elkaim, they played the main roles in it. The film was well received by critics. The film will represent France at the 2012 Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film.
