June 4, 1929 - December 30, 1988 - Soviet director of puppet theaters, director-animator of puppet animation and author of scripts for animated films.
Boris in 1949 graduated from the Theater School. B. Shchukin. Since 1958 he was a director at the Central Puppet Theater under the direction of Sergei Obraztsov.
In 1961 he staged the play "The Bedbug" by V. Mayakovsky at the Perm Puppet Theater.
In 1962 Ablynin became the chief director at the Moscow Puppet Theater. In 1968 he created the studio "Skylark" at the theater. The graduation work was a performance based on the play by J. Anuya "The Skylark", which gave the name to the theater-studio. Its official opening took place on the stage of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater in February 1968. Staged at the theater "The War with the Salamandrai" by K. Chapek, as well as the performances "I am a happy guy", "Ivan - a peasant son", "Spridit", "The Great Frog".
In 1972, after the closure of the Zhavoronok theater-studio, Ablynin went to cartoon films.
Since 1975, he has worked as a director at the Soyuzmultfilm studio. Staged a number of puppet cartoons and paintings with theatrical puppets.
Staged puppet shows at the Riga Puppet Theater (State Puppet Theater of the Latvian SSR).
