Graduated from the literary faculty of Moscow State University (1930).
In 1931-1933 he was assistant director, artist of the Moscow theater TRAM.
In 1933-1935 he was a researcher at the V.E. Meyerhold.
In 1936 he was accused of Trotskyism and sent into exile.
In 1937 - director of the Alma-Ata Theater of Russian Drama named after M.Yu. Lermontov.
In 1940 he was repressed. He was the director of the Magadan Drama Theater, in 1950-1953 - the director of the Ust-Olchugsky Theater.
In 1953-1955 he was a director of the Tbilisi Theater of Russian Drama named after A.S. Griboyedov.
