Born October 19, 1966, New York is an American actor, film director, producer and screenwriter.

Graduated from Bronx High School of Science in 1984 and attended Queens College at City University of New York, but left shortly after in 1987. He worked for Bear Stearns on Wall Street for a while, before returning to college for a semester in early 1988. Then he left college for the second time. Several credits were not enough for him to get the certificate. Having set himself the goal of conquering the film industry, John left for Chicago in the summer of 1988, began to play in the ImrovOlympic troupe, but a little later in the Improv Institute. After a while, Favreau moved to Los Angeles, where he began to play bit parts in low-budget films.

John's first major painting is Rudy (1993). On the set, he meets his partner, Sean Astin. And there Favreau meets another actor, Vince Vaughn, who played a minor role in the same film. Favreau played Dee-Bob in this film, and Vince Vaughn became his close friend, with whom Favreau also starred in many places.

Around the same time, John had a script idea, which he implemented a few years later in Doug Liman's The Party People (1996). In this picture, Favreau acted as a co-producer, and also played one of the main roles. The film received many positive reviews and received a good box office at the box office. On the courage of his success, Favreau receives an offer to play a role in the film "Very Wild Things" (1998), which fails miserably. In 2003, Favreau played a lawyer, friend of Matt Murdoch, played by Ben Affleck, in the film Daredevil.

John's main directorial debut took place in 2001, when he collaborated with Vince Vaughn in the comedy "It's All Under Control!" (2001).

He also directed films: Elf (2003), Zatura: A Space Adventure (2005) and, of course, the commercial super-hit Iron Man (2008), which grossed a huge amount at the box office - half a billion dollars and in which John played a minor role, as well as its sequel "Iron Man 2". Favreau was to direct the Avengers, which is a sequel to Iron Man and several other Marvel Comics superhero films, but he turned down the offer, and even did not agree to Iron Man 3. In 2017, John returned to the role of Happy Hogan in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
