Born March 29, 1958 in Martinez, a suburb of San Francisco. As a child, he loved horror films and Jaws. While still a schoolboy, he shot 22 short films and showed them in the school cafeteria. Conflicted with my stepfather. When Victor was 18, his parents found out he was gay and kicked him out of the house.
In 1986 he directed Something in the Basement, which attracted the attention of Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola helped finance Salva's next film, House of the Clowns.
While filming House of Clowns, he was charged with seducing 12-year-old actor Nathan Winters. He was arrested, received a three-year prison term, then released on parole after serving 15 months in prison. The criminal record hit his career seriously; after his release, he could not find a director's job for several years.
Victor's popularity came after the movie "Jeepers Crippers". After the success of the first film, he directed a sequel
