Boris Georgievich Dobronravov was born on April 4th, 1896. Boris's father was a priest, and his mother was an ordinary housewife raising children. At the age of 13, his father sent him to study at a theological school, so that his son inherited his father's profession. However, this was not destined to come true. After completing his studies, he was again sent to study theology at the Moscow Seminary. Taking an example of masculinity from his older brother, Boris challenged his father's decision and wanted to devote himself to the study of physics and mathematics, for which he entered Moscow State University.
In 1915 Boris Dobronravov was walking and having fun with his girlfriend. Seeing an advertisement in the Rannee Utro newspaper about exams at the Art Theater, they made a bet that Boris should pass the tests and pass the exam. Exclusively because of his pretty appearance, he passed the exam and was accepted as an intern at the Moscow Art Theater. It seemed to him that he could combine studying at the university and playing in the theater, but, as it turned out, he had to choose, and without thinking twice, Boris chose the theater.

In the end, he proved his skill and over time received more and more prestigious roles, until in 1918 he was enrolled in the troupe of the Moscow Art Theater.
