1905 - 1972, Ukrainian Soviet writer and politician. Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1943). Hero of Socialist Labor (1967), laureate of five Stalin Prizes (1941, 1942, 1943, 1949, 1951) and the International Lenin Prize "For Strengthening Peace Among Nations" (1960). Member of the CPSU (b) since 1940.
