In the glorious city of Kherson on March 31, 1945, the future theater and film actress - Lydia Vakula was born. The young lady strove for an acting career from a fairly early age, but she graduated from the Karpenko-Kary State Kiev Institute of Theatrical Art only in 1968. While still a young and talented student, Lydia worked as an actress at the Kherson Music and Drama Theater, which she received back in 1964.
After graduating from theatrical institute, you could watch Lydia Vakula on the stage of the regional drama Ukrainian theater in Rovenki, where she worked from 1968 to 1969. After that, the actress changes her place of work to the Zankovetska Lviv Drama Ukrainian Theater, playing all kinds of roles there until 1972. After leaving the Lviv theater, Lydia entered the regional Vinnytsia music and drama theater named after Sadovsky. It was on the stage of this theater that one could see the most memorable roles of Lydia Vakula, in total she played more than a hundred.
Since 1993, she has been bearing the honorary title of People's Artist of Ukraine.
