In 1952 she graduated from GITIS.
In 1952-1958 and 1978-1980 she worked as a director at the Kiev Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka, in 1958-1978 and from 1980 until the end of her life - at the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater.
Since 1976 - professor at the Kiev Institute of Theater Arts.
People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1976) .
Irina Molostova died on the day of her last premiere of "The Oprichnik" by PI. Tchaikovsky at the BKHAT (Moscow). She was buried in Kiev at the Baikovo cemetery.
