Born March 18, 1951 in Baltimore, and spent his childhood in Denver, Colorado. His father was also a musician - he played tuba and double bass and really wanted his son, if he was destined to follow in his father's footsteps, to become a clarinetist. He did not mind at first. Bill studied with his home teacher for an hour a day, and the guitar ... the guitar was always just for fun.
