Born in 1948 in Everett, grew up in the Alhambra, where he performed in the band The Second Helping he founded. In the early 1970s he played in the band Gator Creek. From 1971 to 1976, together with his friend Jim Messina, he sang in the pop-rock duo Loggins and Messina. In 1977, Loggins released his debut solo album, Celebrate Me Home. A year later, the musician's second album, Nightwatch, was released, which included the popular song Whenever I Call You Friend, performed by a duet with Stevie Nicks. In 1979, Loggins' third LP, Keep the Fire, was released. In 1980, "What a Fool Believes" by Loggins and singer Michael McDonald won a Grammy for Best Song of the Year. The musician also recorded many highly successful songs for films such as "Golf Boy", "Free", "With All His Strength" and "Top Shooter". In the 1990s, Loggins released several new solo albums, including the 1994 children's album, Return to Pooh Corner. In 2005, the duo Loggins and Messina reunited, and the musicians embarked on a successful national tour, which resulted in the release of the CD and DVD "Loggins and Messina Sittin 'In Again".
