The famous Japanese dancer, actor, choreographer Min Tanaka was born on March 10, 1945 in the city of Yamaguchi. From an early age, his parents sent their son to a ballet school, and later he himself enrolled in a modern dance studio. Together with the ballet troupe he toured many countries of the world. In 1973 he decided to start a solo career. Moreover, Min organized a new business from scratch, in absolute improvisation with original ideas in the world of dance, sometimes practicing five times a day. The new direction immediately took its own niche, the dancer gained a lot of fans and followers, and in 1981 he founded the dance group Mai-Juku. In 1982, together with his friend Kazue Kobata, he created the Plan Bit dance platform, and in 1985, under his leadership, the ideology of the Weather of the Body movement emerged, a dance like a force of nature that has followers all over the world. In 1988, another event occurs Tanaka opens up a promising new arts project Atcamp Hakushu. Since 2002 Min has tried his hand at cinematography again. He first appeared on screens back in 1971 in the series Great Shows. Min Tanaka's film Shadow Samurai won an award at the Berlin Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar, and Min won the Japan Association Award for Best Supporting Actor. Another noteworthy film is The Hidden Blade (2004) about the last days of the shoguns and samurai.

A new film with Min Tanaka 47 Ronin (2014) attracted the attention of viewers to Japanese culture, traditions, thanks to large-scale performances, brilliant acting and filming in conditions close to the real life of warriors. At the moment, an extraordinary person lives in the village of Hakushi near Fujiyama. He is engaged in agriculture, still puts on productions for the Russian followers of his work at the School of Dramatic Art in Moscow.
