Writer, screenwriter, director.
Graduated from the literary department of the historical and ethnological faculty of Moscow State University (1927), then - the directing faculty of VGIK. He worked as editor of the publishing house "New Village", "Selkhozgiz", since 1932 - editor and consultant of the film studios "Soyuzfilm" and "Mosfilm" .
In 1941-1945 - a member of the people's militia, then - an actor and director of the front-line theater of the WTO. The author of plays, stories, novels, poems, scripts for a number of fiction and animation films.
