Estonian actor Tonu Kark was born in Tallinn, the capital of the smallest of the sixteen Soviet republics at the time. Since childhood, he was interested in art, which is probably why he chose the profession of an actor. In Estonia then there was a training studio at the drama theater, which bore the name of the Bolshevik Kengisepp. Tonu graduated from it and immediately went to the provincial town of Rakvere.
