Actor Boris Stavitsky was born on April 26, 1927 in Kharkov, Ukraine. Father worked at a factory, mother is a teacher. Boris's interest in theatrical art was born at school, so after graduation he entered the Kharkov Theater Institute. His teacher, A.I.Serdyuk, famous in those years, instilled in his student a great love for the theater, which Stavitsky carried through his whole life.
After graduating from the institute in 1948, Boris Stavitsky begins to work in the musical and drama theater of Uzhgorod. There he worked for only two years. After that, a series of fruitful cooperation with other theaters begins - Kharkov Academic, Tbilisi, Kiev Academic. From 1970 to 1990, the actor dedicated to the main stage of the Kiev Academic Theater named after Franko - imagine how many years Boris Stavitsky has invested in his beloved work! And what a huge contribution he made to the all-round development of the skill of an actor in Ukraine. After all, among other things, he taught at the Kharkov theater, and at the studio school at the Shevchenko theater, and for more than 30 years at the Karpenko-Kary GITI. Over the years, he has trained and nurtured over 100 great and talented actors.
In addition to teaching, Stavitsky acted in films until 1981. The first film with Boris Stavitsky in the title role - Lymerivna - was released in 1954 and was a great success. Moreover, it was not just a film, but a film-play genre popular at that time. Then there were several more paintings with his participation - Love at Dawn, Hiding Place at the Red Stones, Kassandra, Talent, Yaroslav the Wise. However, it should be noted that most of the time and effort Boris Petrovich devoted exclusively to work in the theater.
In 1960, Stavitsky was awarded the title of Honored Actor of the Ukrainian SSR.
The actor died on July 6, 2003, and is buried at the Southern Cemetery in Kiev.
