Born and raised in Berlin (Germany).
As a student at a private theater school in Berlin, he got into the class of the St. Petersburg director Andrei Moguchy. In 1989, the director invited him to St. Petersburg for a theater festival.
"Before my arrival in Russia, I seemed to be asleep, but here my eyes opened and I realized: this is where real life is!" - Axel recalls.
He returned to Berlin, finished his studies at the theater school, starred in two feature films and several television projects, and in 2000 decided to move to Russia, because he retained great impressions from his trip to St. Petersburg and all this time communicated with Andrei Moguchy.
Lives in St. Petersburg.
