Born March 11, 1978, South Korea is a South Korean actor, director, screenwriter and artist.

In one of his interviews Ha said that he always dreamed of being as good an actor as his father, and always strived for it. Before going to college, Ha Jong-woo studied at a private acting institute, where he was mentored by popular Korean actor Lee Bom Soo. Then he entered the Chunan University Theater Department. In 1998, Ha Jong-woo was enlisted in the compulsory military service and worked in the Public Relations Department of the Armed Forces. During his service, he starred in ten war films.

Ha made his official debut in 2002 in the comedy drama "Honest Living", and the following year he already made his big screen debut in the feature film Madeleine. Over the next few years, Ha Jong-woo mostly played supporting roles that never went unnoticed and received a lot of attention. In 2005, his career took off when he signed an exclusive contract with the agency SidusHQ, and on their recommendation took the pseudonym - Ha Jong-woo. In the same year, he played his first major role in the film "The Unforgiven". He then appeared in Kim Ki-Dook's controversial art-house film Time, which attracted the attention of not only Korean audiences, but also neighboring countries. After filming Ha Jong-woo, he played the role of a cold-blooded prosecutor in the drama "Serial Homicide Investigation Department" who has a romantic relationship with a female police officer. He also starred in the American film Never Forever, and received many accolades for his acting from the organizers of the International Film Festival.

In 2008, Ha Jong-woo made a breakthrough by starring in the film Pursuer, in which he played the role of a serial killer. The film became a hit in the Korean box office, sold over 5 million tickets and received high reviews from film critics, and Ha Jong-woo received many awards for his acting. In the same year, he played a psychopath, combined with the character of a charming bastard in the film "My Sweet Enemy," and thanks to this project, where Ha Jong-woo was able to fully demonstrate his versatility, he was named one of the most sought-after actors in the Korean film industry. Over the next several years, Ha Jong-woo just worked non-stop, taking on several major and varied roles at once on projects such as Moonlight Seoul, Boat, Takeoff (which became one of the largest box office hits of 2009).
American director Martin Scorsese praised Ha Jong-woo, saying that this actor really has a lot of potential. Such that he could easily compare with the famous Hollywood actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon. He even hosted several exhibitions of his own. Critics have praised Ha Jong-woo's work, writing that they have many bright colors, and the compositions themselves are very interesting, reminiscent of the works of the American artist Jean Michel Basquiat. Ha Jong-woo himself says that drawing is just his hobby, in which he puts all his emotions and which helps him express himself as an actor.
