Emilia Milton was born in May 1902 (Uman). The future artist's family was simple: mom was a housewife, dad was a pharmacist in a pharmacy. When the girl was 7 years old, they moved to Odessa. Emilia was already there and received her secondary education at the state gymnasium. From an early age she was interested in theater and therefore entered a drama school in the 9th grade. After 3 years she successfully completed it.

The actress was directly involved in the creation of one of the theaters in the city of Odessa. Namely, the "Workshop for Social Drama". The first role of Emilia Milton on the stage is Harlequin (Turandot), Dorimena (Bourgeois in the Nobility), Louise (Feast in Time of Plague).

The first serious place of work was the "Red Torch" - another Odessa theater. The actress worked there for about 12 years. During this time, she traveled all over Russia, Ukraine, Belarus on tour.

After another 4 years, namely in 1938, she again changed her place of residence. This time she went to Kiev, where she worked for a long time at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater. She played many different roles on his stage.

In 1945 she was invited to the Moscow Drama Theater, where she worked until the end of her life.
