Kyle McLachlan is an American actor best known for his work in films such as Doors, Dune, Blue Velvet.

Kyle Merritt McLachlan was born on February 22, 1959 in Yakima, Washington, and was one of the three sons of advertising agency employee Katherine and financier Kent Alan McLoughlen. He has Scottish and German roots. McLachlan graduated from the University of Washington in 1982 and soon after moved to Hollywood, California to pursue an acting career.

Kyle had a close friendship with director David Lynch for many years, and in 1984 made his debut in his adaptation of Frank Herbert Dune. This was followed by work in such tapes as The Hidden, Wealth in Love, The Process, The Flintstones, Showgirls, Trigger Effect, Reservoir Dogs Time, One Night Out, Hamlet, Timecode, Perfume, Find Alice, Northfork, The Smell of Success, Mao's last dancer. The last film with Kyle McLachlan was released in 2011, Peace, Love and Misunderstanding is a tragicomedy about the conflict between fathers and children.

In addition, Kyle has worked in such multi-part films as Tales from the Crypt, Twin Peaks, Desperate Housewives, In Justice, Right Wife, Portlandia, Believe.
